Synchrotron shielding

Calder Industrial Materials is a leading global supplier of lead chambers ("hutches") used to shield the very high levels of radiation produced in synchrotron beam-lines. Calder’s specialist unit offers a complete service from design to installation, and is the only global supplier with the capability to control all manufacturing, fabrication and assembly operations in-house. Calder designs every hutch to customer specification and is able to offer a complete range of product features.

Non Destructive Testing

Calder subsidiaries make shielding, and fabricate complete radiation-proof chambers, to house non-destructive testing equipment, used - for example - in the X-Ray testing of jet engine turbine blades, other aerospace components, wind-turbine blades and oil pipeline welds.
