• Midland Aerospace is a specialist “speed-shop” manufacturer of aerospace spare parts and late specification components in small batch sizes and to extremely short lead times.
• The business has a unique combination of a high skills base, a flexible “can-do” culture and a very wide range of CNC machine tools, fabrication facilities and in-house support functions (including welding, heat-treatment and paint shop) that enable it to manufacture complex components and assemblies to lead-times of 1 – 5 days without compromise to product specification and quality.
• Machined components range from simple milled or turned parts to complex prismastic 5-axis components. Midland Aerospace’s CNC machining centres include the latest 5-axis technology.
• Midland’s core capability lies in the manufacture of small to medium sized complex structural parts from aluminium, titanium and various grades of steel. In-house process capability includes CNC turret punching, CNC 7-axis press braking, welding, riveting, heat-treatment, and paint shop.
• The business holds the following aerospace approvals: JAR (21) G, JAR Part 145 (Repairs), AS 9100, AS 9110 as well as customer approvals from Airbus (UK), BAe Systems, GKN, Raytheon Aircraft, and Smiths Aerospace.
